Etsy fee rates 2026

Every rate these calculators use, when it took effect, and what it replaced. Rates change quietly — Etsy's fees policy carries a "last updated" stamp, but no changelog. This page is the changelog.

The tables below are a verified snapshot (18 Sep 2026). The calculators always compute from the live rate server — if a rate moves between snapshots, the calculators update first and this page follows at the next check.

These apply to every Etsy seller. The regulatory operating fee below is the one that moves.

Regulatory operating fee — by country

Announced 22 April 2026, effective 22 June 2026. Charged on the same base as the transaction fee: item price plus shipping plus gift wrap.

Canada and Vietnam were not part of the 22 June 2026 announcement, so their rates are carried forward from the previous schedule rather than confirmed as re-published. One source gives Canada 0.50% where the rest give 1.15% — we use 1.15%. If you sell from either country, confirm the current figure in your Etsy payment account before relying on it.

Payment processing — by country

The 6.5% transaction fee is global. Payment processing is where your country changes the maths.

Tax on Etsy's fees

Some countries charge local VAT or GST on Etsy's own service fees. This is tax passed to the authorities, not revenue Etsy keeps.

CountryRateTypeNote
United Kingdom20%VATNot charged if you are VAT-registered and have entered your VAT number
Australia10%GSTReclaimable if GST-registered
Germany19%VATVerify per market
France20%VATVerify per market
Italy22%VATVerify per market
Spain21%VATVerify per market
These are national VAT/GST rates, not rates published by Etsy — Etsy does not publish a table of the tax it charges on its own fees. Treat them as indicative and confirm your own rate before relying on them.

How we check this

Date stamps over prose

Etsy prints a "last updated" date on its policy pages. That stamp is the fact. A blog saying "Etsy just announced" is not — and several of the calculators ranking today are describing rates that changed over a year ago.

Old rates are kept, not overwritten

When a rate changes we close the old row and add a new one. Nothing is updated in place, which is why this page can show you what a rate was before 22 June 2026.

We say when we don't know

Canada and Vietnam are labelled as carried forward rather than confirmed. We also found one source giving Canada 0.50% where the rest give 1.15% — we use 1.15% and flag the discrepancy, so verify it if you sell from Canada.
